Common questions

It’s normal to have questions.
It’s our job to have answers.

If your loan was transferred to Rocket Mortgage, you will still receive your year-end tax statement (Form 1098) in time to file your taxes. We will mail your 1098 no later than January 31 of the following year, and you can also access it electronically by logging into your Rocket account.
Once your loan transfer is complete, you’ll be able to find all documents shared by Rocket Mortgage in the Documents section of your Rocket account. These documents will include billing statements, escrow analysis statements, tax documents, and more.
We’ll send out your monthly statement no later than 2 weeks before your next due date.
Most autopay schedules won’t be eligible for transfer, so it’s best to be prepared to re-enroll in autopay once your loan transfer is finalized. If your autopay is eligible, you’ll see confirmation of its successful transfer in your Rocket account.

If your autopay was successfully transferred, you may see a delay in the first payment while the transfer is finalized – but rest assured that payment will be drafted and any potential delay won’t result in any late fees.
If you already sent a payment to your previous servicer, they’ll forward it to Rocket Mortgage without any penalty to you. If your payment is sent back to you, you can simply send the payment directly to Rocket Mortgage. If there’s any delay, don’t worry – you won’t be charged late fees or see any impact on your credit report for the next 60 days.
To ensure a smooth transition in your mortgage payments, there is a 60-day grace period so Rocket can receive any scheduled one-time payments or autopay with your previous servicer. During this time, we won’t charge late fees and there will be no impact to your credit.
Paying online with your Rocket Account is safe and quick. You’ll have the option to set up autopay or make one-time payments. If online payments aren’t right for you, you can also mail in a check or use bank bill pay.
You can mail your monthly payment using a check or money order payable to “Rocket Mortgage.” Please be sure to include your new Rocket Mortgage loan number on it.

Please contact your bank as soon as possible to set up payments to Rocket Mortgage. This will help avoid any issues in the future.
All payments will be posted to your account within 10 days of your transfer date. We will credit you with making your payment on the day we receive it. These delays will not result in any late fees or negative credit impacts.
Once your onboarding is finalized, you can request a payoff quote online or by phone.

To get started, give us a call at (800) 508-0944. After that, you can respond to the interactive prompts with your voice or by pressing the keys on your touchtone phone.
Your escrow funds with your previous servicer will transfer over automatically. From there, Rocket Mortgage will continue to pay your tax and/or insurance costs on your behalf. No action is needed from you.
Yes. Please make sure Rocket Mortgage’s Mortgagee Clause is listed correctly on your insurance policy. This allows your insurance provider to send us your annual policy renewal and keeps your account current.

If you have an escrow account transferring over with your loan, you won’t need to contact your tax authority — Rocket Mortgage will do that for you.
If you didn’t have an escrow account with your previous servicer, your loan will remain non-escrow with Rocket Mortgage.
If you currently have optional insurance products such as life, accidental death, or disability insurance, it’s important to note that Rocket Mortgage doesn’t collect these premiums. Please contact your insurance provider for more details on how this transfer may affect your policy.
Loan transfers happen between servicers all the time for a variety of reasons, none of which are a reflection on you. We’re devoted to providing the most valuable experience you’ve had as a homeowner.
Typically, your loan number is the only thing that will change. Your loan terms, conditions, monthly payment, due date, and grace period will all remain the same.

In some cases, small adjustments may occur due to factors such as escrow analysis, recent payments, and other research conducted during the onboarding of your loan. Any such changes will be reflected in your Rocket Mortgage monthly statements, and we’ll be happy to explain them.
We will send you your first statement within 30 days of your transfer date. Please contact us if you have not received a statement by then.

Want it sooner? Once your loan is fully onboarded, sign in to your online account to view your statement as soon as it’s available.
Yes. Once your loan is onboarded and you have full online access, you can easily opt in for paperless from your account dashboard. Once you go Paperless, we’ll notify you by email whenever you have a new document ready to view. Paperless is the fastest, easiest, and most secure way to receive important communications about your home loan.
If you received mortgage assistance from your prior servicer, that will be reflected on your Rocket Mortgage loan. If you were in the process of applying for mortgage assistance, we will have all the information you’ve previously submitted, and you will not be required to restart the process.
If you haven’t received any emails from Rocket Mortgage with more details on your loan transfer, be sure to check your spam or junk folder. If you’re still unable to find any emails, please contact us for assistance from a team member.
