Common questions

It’s normal to have questions.
It’s our job to have answers.
How can I access documents from before my loan was transferred?
Documents shared before transfer are available by request from your previous servicer.
How will the transfer impact my year-end tax statements?
How will the transfer impact my year-end tax statements?
Where can I review the documents I receive from Rocket?
Once your loan transfer is complete, you’ll be able to find all documents shared by Rocket in the Documents section of your Rocket account. These documents will include billing statements, escrow analysis statements, tax documents, and more.
When does Rocket Mortgage send out billing statements?
Billing statements are generated after the 16th of each month, and are sent out by the 20th.
Will my current autopay schedule transfer over to my Rocket account?

If you were enrolled in monthly autopay, that autopay will transfer automatically to Rocket Mortgage. You may see a delay in the first payment while we transfer – this is normal and won’t cause late fees.

However, if you were enrolled in other autopay schedules like weekly or biweekly, those can’t be transferred automatically and you’ll need to re-enroll once your loan transfer is complete.

What if I already scheduled my next payment due with my previous servicer?
If you already sent a payment to your previous servicer, don’t worry about it being late. They’ll forward payments to Rocket for 60 days after your loan transfer, without any penalty to you.
How long is the grace period for making payments during this transfer?
To ensure a smooth transition in your mortgage payments, there is a 60-day grace period so Rocket can receive any scheduled one-time payments or autopay with your previous servicer. During this time we won’t charge late fees and there will be no impact to your credit.
What options are available for making payments with Rocket Mortgage?
Paying online with your Rocket account is safe and quick. You’ll have the option to set up autopay or make one-time payments. If online payments aren’t right for you, you can also mail in a check or use bank bill pay.
What if I’ve been using bank bill pay with my old servicer?
Please contact your bank as soon as possible to set up payments to Rocket. This will help avoid any issues in the future.
Does the loan transfer have any impact on my escrow account?
Your escrow funds with your previous servicer will transfer over automatically. From there, Rocket will continue to pay your tax and/or insurance costs on your behalf. No action is needed from you.
Do I need to contact my tax authority and/or insurance providers?
If you have an escrow account transferring over with your loan, you won’t need to contact your tax authority and/or insurance providers — Rocket will do that for you.
I didn’t have an escrow account before. Am I required to have one now?
If you didn’t have an escrow account with your previous servicer, your loan will remain non-escrow with Rocket.
I have a third-party insurance policy. Will the transfer impact that policy?
If you currently have optional insurance products such as life, accidental death or disability insurance, it’s important to note that Rocket doesn’t collect these premiums. Please contact your insurance provider for more details on how this transfer may affect your policy.
Why is my loan being loan transferred?
Loan transfers happen between servicers all the time for a variety of reasons – none of which are a reflection on you, We’re devoted to providing the most valuable experience you’ve had as a homeowner.
Are there any changes to my loan I should know?
Your loan number is the only thing that will change. Your loan terms, conditions, monthly payment, due date and grace period will all remain the same.
What if I haven’t received any emails from Rocket Mortgage yet?
If you haven’t received any emails from Rocket with more details on your loan transfer, be sure to check your spam or junk folder. If you’re still unable to find any email, please contact us after March 4 for assistance from a team member.
