Rocket Mortgage doesn't share your info with outside companies for their promotional use without your consent. 

Because of our business's financial nature, our products aren't designed to appeal to children under the age of 13. Therefore, we don't knowingly attempt to solicit or receive any info information from children.

We use a Google Analytics product called Firebase for our mobile apps.

Rocket Mortgage Media Advertising Guidelines

We want you to be confident when using our services. Which is why we want to share our governing principles for our information practices and other privacy aspects.

We don’t make our advertising decisions based on political affiliations or in support of/ against any political or religious group.

We believe in freedom of speech. However, we also have a duty to ensure that our advertising doesn’t appear in the any content detrimental to our brand values.

We always want to do the right thing when deciding where our ads appear.

Which is why we won’t advertise during programs that:

  • Exploits excessive or gratuitous violence.
  • Demeans or denigrates any religion, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, or is otherwise lacking in good taste.

To provide a tailored experience, we may ask for personal information when you visit any of our services. 
Here’s how we may collect and use it: 

Credit Reporting Agencies And Your Identity 

When applying for a mortgage, credit reporting agencies may share your info with us. Because of this, you could receive emails or phone calls you didn’t ask for. They could offer things like credit cards or other loan products.

Using our tools, applications and Rocket Account. 

There are several ways for you to explore mortgage or personal loan options without providing personal info. Most of our calculators don’t require personal info and we don’t attribute info you’ve provided to you as an individual. 
 
However, if you’re ready to move forward with an application, we do require some additional personal info and the creation of an account. This is to help keep your personal financial info secure.  

When you create an account, you’ll provide an email address and choose a password. You’ll use your email address and password to check on the status of your application, pay your mortgage or view your financial profile.  

We’ll use your contact info to provide alerts or updates about your loan status and send you communications for things like exclusive offers on other products or services offered by Rocket Mortgage. 

If you’re not interested in receiving communications for exclusive offers, you can opt-out at any time. Just send us an email at optout@rocketmortgage.com or update your communication preferences. 

Credit Report: When you submit a loan application, you authorize us to share your credit report with our affiliates only to process your loan application. 
 
Newsletters: We have email newsletters to help you stay up to date on all things Rocket Companies. You’re always welcome to unsubscribe by simply following the instructions located at the bottom of each email. 
 
Interactive Help (Chat / PC to Phone): You can finish your loan application by using one of our interactive help features. We don’t ask for personally identifiable information using interactive help features, but if you volunteer personally identifiable information, we’ll only use it to respond to your request. We maintain transcripts of chat sessions.

Contests, Sweepstakes, And Surveys: We may offer contests, sweepstakes, or surveys from time to time. If you'd like to participate, we'll ask you for contact information, preferences, or other information. We may use this information for research purposes, improve our offerings, or contact you regarding home financing or award prizes. Contests or sweepstakes may have different rules and could affect how we use the info you provide. 
  
Mandatory And Optional Information: For us to accurately handle your request, we may require you to provide specific information. If you chose not to provide the information necessary, we might not finish processing your request.   

When using our services, we could ask for you to provide the following:

  • Social Security Number
  • The location of your property
  • Your property's value
  • Any related loan products or services you may have used in the past
  • Financial info, like your assets or income

We typically use this information to help process your loan.  
To process your loan, we’ll also need to obtain your credit report. 
We'll collect information about your activity on any of the Rocket Mortgage properties. This info can be used to help improve your overall experience. 
  
Rocket Companies:  
We may share your data with our sister companies. When we share this info with our sister companies, it's typically so we can exchange client info to process your request. 
 
Service Providers:  
In some cases, we'll work with service providers like title companies, appraisers, consultants, temporary workers, third-party software developers to complete a business process or provide a service on our behalf.   

Sometimes we'll work with service providers to complete business processes or provide services on our behalf. When we do, we may need to share your personally identifiable info. Our service providers are prohibited from using your info for purposes other than to act on our behalf.

Change Of Control: If a sale, merger, transfer, exchange, or other disposition of all or a portion of a business of Rocket Mortgage takes place, your personal information could be transferred as well.  
 
You'll have the opportunity to opt-out of further secondary use of your information following any change of control. 

Changes To Our Privacy Policy: If anything changes any of our privacy policies or practices, we'll post these changes 30 days before they take effect.  

Legal Disclosures:  In some cases, we may disclose certain information to comply with a legal process, such as a court order, subpoena, search warrant, or law enforcement request.

The Rocket Mortgage site uses web browser cookies that have unique identifiers. These unique identifiers provide Rocket Mortgage with data used to understand our users and their habits better. Which, in turn, can help improve your experience. 
 
Through a tracking utility, we can, for example, reconstruct activity from a session or by a user for troubleshooting and issue resolution purposes.   
 
Rocket Mortgage may also employ service providers to help us collect and understand our website usage data. 
 
From time to time, we present surveys to site visitors, we use cookies to help us curb presenting the same invite to the same person.  

If you're a registered Rocket Mortgage user, you'll receive a cookie when you sign in. Your browser maintains these cookies and contains your identifier.   
 
We use these cookies to authenticate your identity and provide you access to areas of our site that are limited to registered users.  
 
Our service providers may serve ads on affiliate or advertiser sites may send different cookies or small graphic images called single-pixel GIFs or web beacons. These GIFs are sent to your browser and track the effectiveness of Rocket Mortgage advertising on other websites and your involvement with Rocket Mortgage. The Rocket Mortgage site also sets a temporary cookie with a unique, anonymous identifier provided to the service provider to ensure that each referral is only counted once.  These cookies aren't linked to a customer's personal information. The cookies and web beacons are necessary to ensure that affiliate program members are appropriately credited for their referrals. Service providers report data in the aggregate and do not link it to individual customer information. 
 
Rocket Mortgage may also work with service providers who assign cookies or web beacons to your browser. These cookies could assist us in collecting website usage data such as your IP address, session ID, URL, and demographic information such as your zip code. The data collection may include personally identifiable information.  We don't track URLs you type into your browser, nor do we track you across the Internet once you leave our site. 

If you want to browse, you don't have to accept cookies from our site.  However, suppose you decide that you'd like to register and sign in to the website's authenticated areas. In that case, you'll have to modify your browser settings not to accept cookies. You will need to reset your browser to get the cookies that we send.  Otherwise, you won't be able to participate in certain areas of the website.  Most browsers are defaulted to accept and maintain cookies. 

Behavioral Advertising   

You should know that we use third-party advertising companies to collect non-personally identifiable information. We collect this data for online behavioral advertising to provide targeted display advertisements, likely to be of greater interest to you, through participating publishers and advertisers. Examples of this information may include nonpersonally identifiable information (e.g., click stream information, browser type, time and date, subject of ads clicked or scrolled over) using cookies and other technology. Website Usage Data

Our website tracks usage data, including, for example, your IP address, your browser type and version, which pages you view, which page, if any, linked you to our site, and which link, if any, you follow from our site.  

We use this data at the aggregate and individual level to better understand site activity to improve our site offerings, reconstruct activity from a session or by a user for troubleshooting and issue resolution purposes. Social Media And ThirdParty Website Security And Privacy Policies:  Rocket Mortgage currently has a presence on social media to connect with and market to the public, Rocket Mortgage customers, and potential customers of the Rocket Mortgage family. Your activity on thirdparty websites is governed by the security and privacy policies of each thirdparty website. Users of thirdparty websites often share information with the general public, user community, and/or the thirdparty operating the thirdparty website, which may use this information in various ways. Consequently, you should review the privacy policies of the thirdparty website before using it and ensure that you understand how this information may be used. You may be able to adjust privacy settings on your accounts on any thirdparty website or application to match your preferences. The information posted on or directed at Rocket Mortgage through social media is generally available to the public. Don't include information you want to keep private or any other sensitive personal information in your social media activity, comments, or responses to protect your privacy. This information may be archived independently, and retention of such information is governed by the thirdparty website. 

Browser "Do Not Track" And Other Settings: You may be using an Internet browser that can communicate your privacy preferences to the website, including requests not to track your usage and browsing history. Currently, the Rocket Mortgage websites do not respond to any of these signals. Rocket Mortgage may track your activity on these websites and use that information as provided in this policy.

We provide you the opportunity to update or correct the contact and loan application information that you have provided to us. Rocket Mortgage recommends that you do not use email communications to send us sensitive personal information. If you need to change that personal information, we recommend that you call us directly.
